Flydubai , Dubai’s first low-cost carrier will be expanding its route network by the end of its second year of operations in 2011. The carrier that celebrated its first anniversary on June 1st recently started services to Colombo, Sri Lanka, and will enter the Indian market with flights to Lucknow. Flydubai currently serves 16 destinations and will soon cover a total of 21 destinations on June 23rd.
Airlines Chief Executive, Ghaith Al Ghaith said that the plan is to grow within the 4.5-hour flight radius by increasing frequencies on existing routes and launching new ones as it receives all its aircraft by 2016.The airline will launch its ancillary services, such as holiday packages and travel insurance, by the year-end.
