Chinese travellers going to Queensland can now catch direct flights instead of travelling through Sydney or Melbourne to reach Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland. China Southern Airlines, China’s largest airline will introduce three weekly services between Guangzhou, China and Brisbane, Australia from November 1st , this year.
They will be the first direct flights between China and Queensland since 1997 and will open the door to a potential extra 3600 Chinese travellers a month. China is one of Queensland's most important markets, with 153,000 Chinese visiting Queensland last year.
