The Indian cabinet has approved an $11 billion project for e-visa project to ease the flow of communication within various agencies looking after visa approval. The project will cover 78 immigration check posts, 169 Indian missions abroad and 7 Foreigners Regional Registration Offices (FROs) , state and district headquarters of the FROs all over the country.
The e-project would streamline and integrate the visa, immigration and foreigner’s registration and tracking process. In turn, various agencies will be able to share the information on individuals without facing any barriers. The integrated delivery of visas will not only boost the tourism prospects of India but will also aid to track foreign visitors in a better manner and upgrade the national security.
