Ace Hotels and Resorts, India’s leading hotel chain, plans to set up a four-star hotel at Nagpokhari, Nepal. The hotel to be named as ‘Shakya Heritage Hotel’ will feature 100 luxury rooms and expected to cost around Rs 300 million. The construction of the hotel will start by 2011, once all the vital procedures are met.
Yogendra Shakya, executive chairman of Ace Hotels told that he selected Nagpokhari to build his new hotel in a bid to develop the place as an alternative to Thamel - a popular tourist hub in the capital. “Earlier, people used to describe Nagarkot as a seasonal destination. Today, the flow of visitors to Nagarkot is almost the same all the year round. Nagarkot is receiving impressive number of domestic and international tourists,” he added.
The company besides opening a new hotel at Nagpokhari, has plans for further expansion for all its member hotels like Club Himalaya Nagarkot, The Tea House Inn, Ambassador Hotel, Marcopolo Business Hotel, and Trek-O-Tel.
