Indian hospitality industry is all set to receive a major boost as many international hotel chains are keen to expand their presence in India. Canada-based Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, Thailand’s Amari Group, Luxe Worldwide Hotels, Zurich-headquartered Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts, and luxury hotel brand Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts have plans to establish five-star properties in India.
“In India, there is a market for all players,” said Kaushik Vardharajan, executive director of HVS Global Hospitality Services, a hotel consultancy firm.
Global hotel chain, Hilton Worldwide is in the process of launching 6 of its brands into the country. Fairmont Raffles on the other hand, is targeting 15-20 hotels over the next 3 years and mainly looking at opportunities in Mumbai and Delhi for its Raffles brand.
