Marriott International, one of the world’s largest hotel companies has signed management agreements for 7 additional hotels in China and aims to double its existing portfolio in the country in about 5 years. China, Marriott International’s largest market outside North America is all set to get 60 hotels by year-end of 2010.
According to the company release, the 7 newly-signed hotels are: The 320-room luxury JW Marriott Hotel Dalian, the upscale 507-room Renaissance Sanya Resort & Spa, the deluxe 269-room Renaissance Zhuhai Hotel, the 260-room Courtyard by Marriott Fuzhou Hotel, the 265-room Courtyard by Marriott Kunshan, the 350-room Hangzhou Marriott Hotel and the 330-room Shanghai Marriott Hotel Minhang,
J W Marriott Jr, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Marriott International said, “China is arguably the world’s most compelling tourism market today. Within the next ten years, China is expected to be the world’s single largest source of international tourism and its number-one travel destination”.
