People residing in Northern Sri Lanka need not travel all the way to Colombo to submit their Indian visa applications as India has now opened a new visa application center in Jaffna, the capital city of the Northern Province, Sri Lanka.
The new center will facilitate the people of Jaffna and neighboring areas. The High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, H.E. Ashok K. Kantha inaugurated the India Visa Application Centre (IVAC) of the High Commission of India, Jaffna on May 5th. The High Commissioner hoped that the opening of the India Visa Application Centre would encourage many more people to obtain visas to India from this region and travel more often to India. This would promote the traditional close ties between the people of Jaffna and India.
