Travellers visiting Myanmar can now apply for the new arrival visas at Yangon (Rangoon) International Airport and Mandalay International Airport. Earlier, visitors had to apply through travel agents well in advance before coming to Myanmar but now that the Myanmar’s ‘real visa-on-arrival system’ has been approved by the government, visitors can apply at the airport for the 28 days tourist arrival visa, which cannot be extended.
All nationalities except those in the government black list will be issued arrival visa at US$ 30 per person. The current visa-on-arrival system accepts all nationals including Indian citizens. However, tourists cannot be allowed to extend their stay over 28 days. Apart from 28-day tourist visa, business visa-on arrival can also be applied for. This visa cost US$40 and can stay up to 70 days.
