Ambassadors of various ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) countries in India will soon be visiting North Eastern states to explore the possibilities of investing in tourism and trade sector.
As per the tourism Ministry request, the visit will take place in 2 phases. In the first phase, the Ambassadors will visit 3 states in North East region i.e. Mizoram, Manipur, and Tripura. Visits to Sikkim, Nagaland, and Arunachal will happen under the second stage. The visit of the Ambassadors has been organized as part of the ‘Look East Policy’ of Government of India, and also as part of the wider initiative to realize the goals of Vision 2020 for the comprehensive development of North East region.
