Indian paramilitary force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has discovered a lost trekking stretch that can be used as an alternative stretch to the pilgrimage to Mount Kailash, considered to be the abode of Hindu lord Shiva. The stretch connecting to the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage route, from Gala to Kathgodam, was discovered by a team of the ITBP's 7th battalion.
Mount Kailash is a peak in the Gangdisê Mountains, which are part of the Himalayas in Tibet. Every year, thousands of devotees make a pilgrimage to Kailash, which is considered as a very holy place.
