Jim Corbett National Park and Rajaji National Park in Uttarakhand that have been kept closed for tourists this monsoon season will reopen on November 15th. The parks, which house endangered Bengal tigers, leopards, crocodiles, Asiatic elephants among others, are closed during the monsoon period to ensure security for the wildlife.
Jim Corbett National Park, a haven for wildlife lovers and tourists, witnessed nearly 1, 30,000 tourists, including 6,688 foreigners, during the recently concluded tourist season. Similarly, Rajaji National Park that spreads across 3 districts of Uttaranchal – Haridwar, Dehradun and Pauri Garhwal received 5,520 tourists which helped the administration earn revenue of up to Rs 33.30 lakh.
