The new domestic terminal building at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad is all geared to open its doors by next month. The terminal with the capacity to handle 1,000 passengers at a time will basically cater to the domestic traffic. As per the airport officials, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel will officially inaugurate the new terminal.
The passenger handling capacity will be further increased to 1,600 in the near future considering the fast growing domestic traffic at Ahmedabad. The terminal building has been planned according to International Airport Transport Association (IATA) norms for various facilities and intelligent building management systems.
