India’s Sabarmati railways station that has 2 broad gauge platforms and a meter gauge will be getting 2 more platforms. The railway officials also have the idea to have Sabarmati railway station, Ahmedabadh as an alternate station for northwards-bound trains and to start New Delhi-bounds trains from Sabarmati station. The trains going towards North India would originate from Sabarmati but these would be only for the new trains which will be announced now.
Served by the Western Railways, Sabarmati Junction Railway Station is on the Ahmedabad-Mehsana railway line. The main train connections include Ahmedabad-Delhi Mail, Ashram Express, Shanti Express and Mumbai-Porbandar Saurashtra Express.
