Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC), which provides online passenger reservation system has revamped its website to lure more number of users who book rail tickets using the site. The beta version of the new site is available at https://www.irctc.co.in/cgi-bin/beta.dll/irctc/services/home.do# and happens to be user-friendly and efficient.
The travellers now need not login/register for the booking. Any individual can book tickets. The team is using Web 2.0 platforms and Ajax for enabling more features in the site. The new site would have drop-down options and provide more information on the same web page.
“The new interface is intended to increase the number of visitors who book rail tickets using the site,” said Subir Agrawal, Consulting Director, BroadVision- Asia Pacific Region. BroadVision, a pioneer in eCommerce is looking after the website.
