prevalent in Uttar Pradesh too. You will need a day or two to

street-foods and drinks. Actually most of the diseases prevalent in
Uttar Pradesh are either water or air borne.
Some of the most common diseases of concern in Utter Pradesh are
Malaria, Kala-ajar, Japanese Encephalitis, Tuberculosis, Dysentery,
Hepatitis A and HIV/AIDS. World Health Organization predicts that though
health standards are fast changing conditions will not improve over the
next 5 to 7 years. According to Public Health Department in Lucknow, the
major health problems are Dysentery, Parasites, and other water borne
diseases. In the villages, major problems are Skin disease, which
results from lack of proper hygiene and sanitation, acute respiratory
infection, and lung disease that result from indoor cook fires, and
malnutrition.
Avoid drinking water from unknown sources. Try to carry packaged
drinking water wherever you go and don't share your glass of water with
anybody. Keep packets of Oral Re-hydration Solution (ORS) with you.
Always demand for Mosquito repellents in hotels. Mosquitoes cause some
of the major diseases such as Kala-ajar, Malaria, Chikungunya
and Dengue.
