The Punjab government will be spending a total of Rs 60 crore in order to preserve state’s forests, wildlife and promote eco-tourism. The decision was taken in a meeting held between the governing body of the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
The state government in an attempt to woo tourists will spend Rs 2 crore for establishing Awareness Park, nature trails and theme parks. These places will also educate people and bring awareness amongst the public towards the importance and protection of forests and wildlife.
