The Heritage Village being built by the Punjab Heritage and Tourism Development Board (PHTDB) on the campus of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar is all set to become operational by next year. The village will be developed on the lines of famous Chokhi Dhani in Jaipur, an ethnic village resort. The Chief Minister of Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal will soon lay the foundation stone of the heritage village.
The minister has approved the draft proposal for the plan, prepared by Delhi-based consultancy firm Abhimanyu Dalal Architects. The Heritage Village, with a tagline, ‘Sada Pind Saadi Virasat’, is being developed on 11 acres. The boundary wall of the Village is currently under construction.
