Ras Maestros Technology Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Ras Resorts & Apart Hotels Ltd is all set to introduce handheld multimedia devices at Indian heritage sites effective October. The new devices to be launched in association with Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will inform, educate, entertain and guide the tourists visiting the historical places. The Group has identified sites including Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Khajuraho, Sanchi, Elephanta Caves, Fatehpur Sikri, Qutub Minar, Mamallapuram and others for distributing the instruments.
Vishamber Shewakramani, Managing Director, Ras Resorts & Apart Hotels said , “The multimedia device is a location-based instrument, which gives information about a particular location where the device is held. It will provide a truly global experience when it comes to cultural and historical interpretation. We shall give the devices to the above mentioned key heritage sites simultaneously.”
The device equipped with an in-built loudspeaker, twin headphone jacks and an in-built camera will be distributed at the respective locations depending upon the demand. The charge for the device is Rs 60 for Indian language (compulsory in Hindi) and foreign language (compulsory in English) for Rs 100.”
Further, the tour guides will be provided with a wireless broadcast system to improve the quality of their interaction with visiting tourist groups.
