In a bid to provide better connectivity to Jamshedpur and increase the tourist inflow, Deccan Charters, India’s leading general aviation services companies has now launched Kolkotta-Jamshedpur air service with an inaugural flight on August 16th. The carrier that operates 6 days a week will use a 19-seater turbo prop aircraft.
Currently, the aviation company is holding talks with various state governments and corporate houses in a bid to providing air connectivity to all the important but 'unconnected' smaller cities in India. Deccan Charters has also plans to introduce charter flights between Kolkata-Coochbehar and Kolkata-Gaya in the near future.
''The air connectivity of the smaller industrial and historic cities, tourist destinations and other strategic locations with metros and among themselves is necessary for the development of those areas. This service aims at linking the people of Jamshedpur with the rest of the country in an effective manner. It will give the 'Steel City' immense support for further development and reiterate its presence on the country's air map,’’ said Deccan Charters Chairman, Captain G.R. Gopinath.
Bangalore-based Deccan Charter services include corporate Charters, Heli-Tourism, Heli-Pilgrimage, Medical Evacuation, Banner Towing, Geophysical & Mapping Surveys and off-shore & logistics support.
