Gujarat will be soon introducing a new tourism policy in a bid to strengthen the state’s tourism segment. The policy will mainly focus on different aspects like land banks, fiscal benefits, tax benefits, prohibition policy and medical tourism.
“Gujarat should become a tourism import state now. We are looking at an aggressive tourism policy which will address issues of land, taxation, fiscal benefits, etc. I want to introduce the concept of tourism watershed - by retaining Gujaratis to travel in Gujarat as most frequent Gujarati travellers haven’t seen the state,” said Vipul Mitra, secretary (Tourism, Pilgrimage Development & Devsthan Management).
