New Delhi-based Chrysalid Outdoor Learning Centres (COLC) which operates camps and conducts outdoor training activities for corporates and students will be setting up 2 new camps by February 2011. The company presently operates its camp under the brand name ‘Camp Chrysalid’ at Junga in Himachal Pradesh which attracts both domestic and international corporates. The 2 new camp sites to be set up near Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh and Pauri in Uttarakhand would be built at the total investment of Rs 2 crore.
‘Camp Chrysalid’ equipped with amenities like tented accommodation, library, medical rooms , multipurpose halls used for small meeting and conferencing purposes also offers adventure tourism facilities like rock climbing, rappelling, valley crossing, rifle shooting, rope course activities, trekking among others.
“Our primary aim is to develop each of these campsites as a destination within itself. Earlier tourists weren’t aware of Junga as a destination. However, now we are observing infrastructure development in this region, as well as more tourists exploring this area. We aim to do the same with the two new campsites as well,” said Amaresh Tiwari, Founder, COLC.
The company is currently chalking out plans to launch new packages during the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2010 for the family holiday segment.
