According to the statistics revealed by Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the country received a total of 10, 95,000 visitor arrivals in July, thus registering a growth of 24.1 percent, the first time that visitor arrivals have exceeded 1 million in a single month.
According to sources, the positive growth in visitor arrivals in July can be largely attributed to improved travel sentiment, the draw of Integrated Resorts and the Great Singapore Sale and tactical promotions by airlines and hotels. Visitor days were estimated at 4.3 million days, a year-on-year growth of 21.0 per cent in comparison with July 2009.
The top 5 visitor-generating markets in July were Indonesia (2, 32,505), P R China (1, 17,728), Australia (87,273), Malaysia (82,512) and India (64,862). Similarly, the hotel room revenue was estimated at $173 million, representing an increase of 37.2 per cent compared to a year ago.
Singapore dotted with many well-renowned places like Jurong Bird Park, Fort Siloso, Southeast Asia's only Universal Studios theme park, 4.4 billion dollar Resorts World Sentosa, Tanjong Beach among others is expecting 11.5 million to 12.5 million visitors , this year.
