The international hotel company, IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) that operates several hotel brands has merged with the Thailand - based Piyasombat Property Co Ltd to open a first Hotel Indigo in Bangkok. Hotel Indigo Bangkok expected to be operational by 2012 has 188 rooms and features a speciality restaurant and bar, a business centre, meeting facilities, swimming pool, a gym and health club, as well as a spa.
