The Gujarat government is keen to get 2 more bullet trains for its state, one of them being between Ahmedabad and Dwarka via Rajkot and Jamnagar, while the second would be between Rajkot and Veraval via Junagadh. The 2 proposals sent by the state government to the Indian Railways are expected to be completed by 2020.
While the bullet train between Ahmedabad and Dwarka covering 340 km would cost Rs 22,100 crore, the one between Rajkot and Veraval, for 180 km, would cost Rs 11,700 crore approximately. The 2 projects once operational will not only enhance the transportation system of Gujarat but will also have a significant impact on the travel needs of the people.
