Mercure, the mid-scale brand of Accor Hospitality which had unveiled its first hotel in Bengaluru in 2009, recently opened its third property ‘Mercure Lavasa’ in Maharashtra. Accor Hospitality, world’s leading hotel manager that has its presence in 90 counties is looking forward to develop Mercure brand via management contracts in India.
‘Mercure Lavasa’ built at the total investment of Rs 37 crore mainly aims to tap the leisure segment and has 130 keys equipped with multi-cuisine restaurant, Celebration and Zen Bar. Jean-Michel Cassé, Senior Vice President, Operations India, Accor Hospitality said, “We look forward to develop brand ‘Mercure’ through management contracts in India and will help individuals and small groups in managing their hotels.”
Besides, plans are afoot to rechristen ‘Mercure Bangalore’ as ‘Grand Mercure Bangalore’. Mercure Bangalore targeting mainly the corporate traffic has a total of 126 rooms. Cassé informed, “After we opened the hotel, we realized that it was greater than our expectations, the rooms are huge and hence, we decided to re-brand it as Grand Mercure, since it fits into our Grand Mercure standards. Moreover, the hotel has long staying guests and Grand Mercure encompasses hotels and apartments in prime cities and locations.”
