Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) that runs special tour packages to various destinations in the state recently organized a road show in Jaipur city along with the stakeholders in the sector. The event showcased a wide array of tourism products that the Gujarat state offers. During the show, it was suggested that Rajasthan and Gujarat can leverage each other's tourism products.
TCGL managing director, Anoop Shukla said, "The two states have tourism products that can complement each other and benefit from each other's infrastructure. Gujarat’s international airport is connected by flights from across the world and it is stones throw away from Mt Abu. If Rajasthan has the tiger, Gir has the Asiatic lion. Similarly, both the states are rich in culture and heritage with a plethora of festival and fairs. Promoting regional tourism will certainly be a win-win situation for both.”
Gujarat bestowed with longest coastline in India has a total of 22 sanctuaries and 4 national parks besides other major tourism attractions like Somanath Temple, Sabramathi Ashram, Sasangir among others. "We are already doing up the infrastructure along the coastline and would later, invite investors to look at tourism-related activities along the beaches. The thrust is on promoting the coastal region of Kutch," said TCGL chairman, Kamlesh Patel.
