Aloft Hotels, the mid-scale economy brand of global hospitality major Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc has opened a new hotel property in Chennai. The hotel ‘Aloft Chennai’ has 130 rooms with accessible technology, a restaurant and guest loft rooms featuring nine-foot ceilings and oversized windows.
According to a company release, each guest loft that is a combination of high-tech office and entertainment centre is equipped with wireless Internet access , plug and play, a one-stop connectivity solution for multiple electronic gadgetry such as cell phones, mp3 players and laptops - all linked to a large flat panel HDTV ready television for optimal sound and viewing. Besides, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc will also be launching 170- room Aloft Bangalore.
The Starwood group currently operates 26 hotels in India. With 18 hotels coming up across the country, it will have another 44 hotels (over 10,000 rooms) within the span of next 2-3 years.
