The agreement stands effective from June 23rd and is valid for a period of 2 years.
As per the terms of the agreement, both the States will be promoting each other state to woo more number of tourists from each end. STDC and GTDC will put their best foot forward to tap tourism potential of respective States by introducing various tourism packages, services and products and publicize them to reach out to public.
“Goa is the premier destination for foreign tourists. We want the foreign tourists visiting Goa to be informed about tourism attractions of Sikkim through promotion activities planned in this agreement. This will help in bringing more foreign tourists to Sikkim from the Goa end”, added the source.
In addition, both the corporations will mutually market their hotel accommodations, facilities and tourism packages while pocketing a commission of 15 per cent, once booking is done. STDC has already signed similar agreements with Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat and is planning to engage.
