The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in collaboration with the Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) has set up a Tourism Crisis Cell (TCC) in an attempt to thwart any unpleasant happenings and help in crisis management of tourists in the country. The TCC has come into effect from 22nd July.
To ensure the safety and security of tourists, various travel and trade associations have decided to operate under a one-door policy and serve them through the TCC. To help visitors deal during the times of crisis, the TCC has also launched hotline telephone and mobile numbers-4442555 and 9751044088. Both domestic and international visitors can dial these numbers if they are facing any sort of political, social or environmental trouble.
The HRA that was formed in the year 1973 with an objective to reduce casualties in the Nepal Himalayas will be playing a leading role in the special crisis cell. Representatives from travel agencies, trekking agencies, tour operators and other travel and trade associations will come together and work jointly to combat uncertainty and focus attention on high-risk areas.
