Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) that aims to position and promote its destination in the international market will now be offering free Visas to Indian travellers in order to woo number tourist of arrivals from the Indian market. Indians travelling in groups consisting of more than 5 persons and Indian travel trade contracting with Jordanian suppliers can avail this offer. The tourism board had relaxed its Visa practices for the Indian market, offering Visa on Arrival (VoA) for the Indian FIT leisure travelers last year. The new move is also in line with the country’s initiative to attract Indians into Jordan.
Maher Al Qaryouti, Director- Marketing, Asia, JTB stated, “The Visa relaxation has helped us in attracting Indians. We expect this new move to drive large number of groups into Jordan. We want to make the Indian travel trade aware about this initiative through our road shows conducted for the Indian market.”
The tourism board had recently concluded its city road show in India covering 7 key cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Kochi, Bengaluru, Goa and Mumbai. In 2011, Jordan expects to tap more Indian cities like Hyderabad through its road shows. This year about 7 suppliers from the Jordanian travel market were present at the road shows.
