According to the figures revealed by International Air Transport Association (IATA), the air passenger demand has increased by 11.7 per cent and the freight demand on the other hand has gone up by 34.3 per cent compared to May, last year.
Giovanni Bisignani, Director General and CEO, IATA said, “Demand rebounded strongly in May this year following the impact of the European volcanic ash fiasco in April this year. Passenger traffic is now one per cent above pre-recession levels, while the freight market is six per cent bigger.”
