The Regional Passport Office of Mumbai is situated on the A.B. Road in
Worli. The office issues passports to the residents of Greater Mumbai,
along with the districts of Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Aurangabad and Beed.
Even the residents of Daman and Silvassa, falling under the Union
Territory of Daman and Diu as well as Dadra and Nager Haveli of India,
submit their passport application at the Bombay passport office only.
The annexe of the main office, in Worli, is situated on the Veer
Sawarkar Marg of Prabhadevi.
The Worli Regional Passport Office also caters to the request for
passports under the Tatkaal scheme. Under this scheme, a person can get
a passport within seven to fourteen days of submitting the application
form, along with the requisite documents. However, for the purpose, the
office provides services only between 10 am and 12 noon. After the
issuance of passport, whether under the normal conditions or the Tatkaal
scheme, police verification is done to confirm the address of the
applicant.
The Passport Office (Annexe) comprises of two halls, with each of them
providing different services related to the issue of passport. Hall
number one remains open from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. It caters to those
who are applying for passports under the ordinary channel. The issue of
fresh passports, re-issue of expired passports and issue of duplicate
passports in lieu of damaged or lost passports, is also undertaken here.
You can also get additional booklets for your passport, in case of
exhausted pages, as well as change of name or place of birth or date of
birth. The passport for minors is also issued at the Hall number 1. The
Hall number two also remains open from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. The
services offered here include Renewal of short validity passports, issue
of Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) and Emigration Check Not Required
(ECNR) endorsement.
