Traveling to Udupi
By Air
The nearest airport from Udupi is the Mangalore airport, which is located at Bajpe, at a distance of 60 km. There are daily flights to the airport, from Mumbai and Bangalore. After getting down at the airport, you can hire a non AC taxi for Rs 650 and an AC taxi for Rs 800.
By Rail
The railway station at Udupi falls on the Konkan Railway network and there are trains to most major cities of the state, like Mangalore, Bangalore, Mumbai, Mysore, etc. From the station, you can easily get a bus as well as a taxi for traveling to Udupi.
By Road
Mangalore city is only 60 km away from Udupi. Express buses ply between Mangalore and Udupi at regular intervals. You can reach Bangalore (406 km) with an overnight night journey from Udupi, through Volvo. There are a number of buses running daily from Mumbai to Udupi (18 - 20 hours of journey) as well. Apart from that, buses ply to Udupi, from Mysore (313 km) and Goa as well. If you want to drive to Udupi from Bangalore, take NH4 to Nelamangala, then NH48 to Mangalore, via Channarayapatna, Hassan and Sakleshpur and then switch over to NH17, for reaching Udupi via Suratkal
