Throughout
the length and breadth of India, electricity voltage has been set in the
range of 220-240 volts. Karnataka is no exception. Electrical appliances
not conforming to this electric current voltage will require the use of
a voltage converter. The voltage converters come in three types and are
easily available in local hardware shops.
In India one usually comes across two variants of plug outlets, one
with two round pins and the other with three round pins arranged in a
triangle. Do bring along a plug adapter if your equipment uses any other
type of plugs. Since electrical fluctuations and surges are a common
occurrence in most Indian cities, ensure adequate surge protection
before plugging your gadget into a socket.
