Neemrana
Fort Palace of Rajasthan is situated in village Neemrana of Alwar
district. Maharaja Devi Singh Ji got the Neemrana palace constructed in
the year 1464 AD. The descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan III, defeated by
Mohammad Ghauri in the battle of Tarain, found their third capital in
Neemrana. Raja Rajdeo selected the venue for the fort palace of
Neemrana. The village Neemrana derives its name from Nimola Meo, a brave
local chieftain. After he got defeated in a battle against the Chauhans,
he implored them to give his name to his lost kingdom.
The Neemrana fort palace has now been converted into a heritage hotel.
One of the oldest heritage resorts in the country, Nimrana Fort Palace
