The Royal Thai Embassy has introduced the tourist visa free exemption, where tourists now travelling to Thailand need not pay any fee for visa on arrival. The scheme will be effective from 11th of May till March next year. However, this scheme is not extended to other types of visas such as Non- Immigrant visa and Transit visa. One still needs to apply for the tourist visa through the VFS (Visa Facilitation Services), Thai Visa Application Centre and only pay the VFS Service charge.
The Visa applicants who apply for Tourist Visa (single entry) need not attach demand draft for Visa fee during that period. However, the ordinary passport holder who wants to obtain Tourist Visa is still required to apply through WS Thai. The scheme which was terminated in March this year is again being renewed.
