Indian Railways, one of the busiest rail networks in the world will be running an exhibition train called ‘Sanskriti Express’ to celebrate Indian Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s 150th birth anniversary. It will be inaugurated by Railway Minister Mamta Banerjee and will travel through various key parts of our country before finally returning to Kolkata next year. The train will run for about three months starting and terminating in Delhi.
Indian Railways has been strongly associated with sports since time immemorial has left no stone unturned to promote sports among the youth, through this initiative. This train will showcase the achievements of the Indian Railways’ sports and their contribution to the national sports.
The railways in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology will run this train throughout the country covering a vast number of major cities. The commonwealth games and their complete details such as venues and dates of the events shall also be on display.
