Qatar Airways, one of the fastest growing airlines in the world will receive six Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircrafts by September, 2011. Qatar Airways that has 82 aircrafts currently will increase its number to 120 by 2013 and has placed orders for more than 200 aircraft worth more than $40 billion.
Akbar al-Baker, Chief Executive, Qatar Airways said, “The airline, which is launching flights to Spain, Brazil and Argentina this year, also plans to expand to Iraq when it gets more aircraft deliveries and has rights to fly to Irbil, Najaf and Baghdad”.
Qatar Airways will also be to building and procuring as many as 4 five star hotels in the next 3-4 years as a part of its expansion plans."The airline is tourism and travel and so we have to provide the whole package," he added.
