The Tamil Nadu government will soon set up an amusement complex for children at the island grounds in Chennai and for this; the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) has already invited tenders for the construction of the complex.
According to TTDC officials, the plan is to have many imported games and rides not seen so far in the city. "We are planning to have all these rides and games inside a big air-conditioned hall at island grounds. Water sports will also be part of the amusement park. The company will share the revenue from this project with the state government," said a TTDC official.
Tamil Nadu Tourism Minister, N Suresh Rajan said “I am not sure when the work will be completed. We received good funding from the central government for tourism development and it is helping us carry out many other tourism related projects.”
TTDC whose main objective is to promote tourism in Tamil Nadu offers an array of facilities like hotels, telescope houses, lake park ,restaurants, boat house, among others to aid tourists. The Corporation also offers attractive package tours covering the entire southern states and also states of Bihar, Maharashtra and Uttarpradesh.
