The Southern Railways (SR) in a bid to clear the extra rush of passengers for the Onam festival season has now decided to operate 7 special trains from Tiruchirapalli to Mangalore and back. The trains that will run on special days in the month of August includes the Chennai Central-Ernakulam Special, Chennai Central-Kannur special, Chennai Cenral-Kollam Special, Chennai Central-Kollam superfast special, Tiruchchirappalli-Mangalore Central Special, Nagercoil-Mangalore Central and Chennai Central-Mangalore Central Special.
According to the railway press release, the train No 0643 Tiruchirapalli-Mangalore Central superfast special train would depart at 1800 hrs on August 21st and reach Mangalore Central at 1725 hrs the following day. In its return direction, Train No 0644 Mangalore Central-Tiruchirapalli superfast special train would leave Mangalore at 2045 hrs respectively.
Train No 0645 Tiruchi-Mangalore Central special train on the other hand would leave at 0745 hrs on August 23rd and 25th and reach Mangalore Central at 1015 hrs the next day. In its return direction, Train No 0646 Mangalore Central- Tiruchirapalli special train would leave Mangalore at 1945 hrs on August 24th and 26th to reach Tiruchirapilli at 0815 hrs the following day, the release added.
