Calicut-based Hotel Company, Kadavu Resorts is all set to expand its footprint in the Kerala hospitality sector by setting up a five-star hotel cum convention center at Wayanad district. The company that is in the process of developing the property will be spread across 20 acres of land and is expected to be ready by December 2011. Kadavu Resorts will incur an investment of Rs 50 crore for the development.
The hotel to be established with an investment of Rs 50 crore will consist of 86 cottages and 100 rooms and the convention centre will have 4 conference halls, each accommodating 1,500 persons, 500 persons, 300 persons and 100 persons.
“We saw the potential to develop a convention facility which would attract MICE Tourism in this region. We also expect this facility to help the hospitality players of the entire Wayanad region as this area is already becoming increasingly popular as a tourist destination,” stated N K Mohammad, Chairman & Managing Director, Kadavu Resorts. The property will be called Vythiri Village. It will also have an Ayurveda centre catering to Wellness Tourism.
To create more awareness and promote the property, Kadavu Resorts will participate in domestic and international travel marts and exhibitions in the pre-opening phase.
