Residents need not pay exorbitant bus fares to reach Delhi airport as Pepsu Road Transport Corporation of Patiala now are providing super AC buses for Delhi airport. The first Punjab roadways air-conditioned bus to and fro the Delhi airport was flagged off by Transport Minister Master Mohanlal on May 4. According to the Minister, this service of the Punjab state road transport corporation will be available throughout the week and the fare is Rs 575. The vehicle would ply in the afternoon so that commuters could board the international flights would be equipped with facilities like water and newspaper.
Following persistent requests from the residents, the proposal has been sent for the approval. The bus services will benefit the people who commute between the city, which is an industrial hub and the national capital, Delhi every day.
General Manager of Punjab Roadways RS Grewal said, “We have initiated the Delhi airport service from Jalandhar on Tuesday. If this venture proves to be a success, we will launch it for city residents.”
