Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has partnered with Singapore-based Conference and Event Management Service Private Limited (CEMS), to organize Maharashtra international Tourism Expo (MITE),the first-of-its-kind event to propel travel and tourism activities in the country. The event is scheduled to take place between 7th and 9th January 2010.
On this tie-up, Edward Liu, CEMS Managing Director, said that travel and tourism industry was one of the largest industries in the world and India has arrived as a key player in the sector. He further said that with MITE, they would explore some targeted segments in the country, so that they attract more buyers and sellers. He added that the event would serve as a platform for exchange of knowledge and promotion of ideas, trends and opportunities.
It may be mentioned here that CEMS, formed in 1992, is a Singapore-based Multinational Exhibition Organizer and Event Management Company in South and South-East Asia, with its operations spread over 5 countries. The company has been organizing different events, such as trade shows, fairs, conferences, seminars, marketing campaigns, product launches, etc. CEMS, headquartered in New York, also has its offices in India, Pakistan, China and Bangladesh.
