Mizoram will soon be getting a Tourism lodge near Serlui B Hydel Project as the state’s tourism minister, Pu S. Hiato, announced that the proposal to construct is being sent to the Central Ministry for approval.
The Tourist lodges being constructed by the Mizoram tourism department at various locations in kolasib district and at Lengpui village was recently being inspected by the tourism Minister who was on a 2-day visit (2nd & 3rd July). The Minister also thoroughly inspected the Highway Restaurant and the 2 new Tourist Cottages being constructed at Thingdawl district.
The Vairengte Tourist Lodge that is currently being revamped at a total cost of Rs. 45 lakhs is slated to be ready by August 15th. The lodge that was inaugurated in 1991 is being given facelift to attract tourists from outside the state. Tourist Lodges at Vairengte, Kolasib and Bairabi will all be air-conditioned. Further, 2 more tourist lodges are being constructed near Lengpui Airport, which are expected to accommodate 32 beds and and slated to be completed within in a short span of time.
