Marriott International Inc, the worldwide operator and franchisor of hotels has big plans to expand its existing portfolio in China. The company is keen to double the number of hotels to around 120 in China within a span of 5 years. Marriott currently owns 47 hotels in China and expects to have a total of 60 by the end of 2010.The company's chains include Ritz-Carlton, Marriott, JW Marriott, Renaissance, and Courtyard by Marriott.
Marriott international Inc said China is expected to be the world's largest single source of international tourism and top travel destination within the next 10 years. Marriott International currently has more than 3,400 lodging properties in 70 countries and territories.
