Karnataka’s eco-tourism company Jungle Lodges & Resorts (JLR) that currently runs 13 eco and wildlife resorts at state’s exotic locations will be soon launching a dstinctive concept called ‘Jungle Camps and Trails’, the first-of-its-kind in Karnataka.
“Jungle Camps and Trails (JCT) is a unique ecotourism initiative. Each camp will provide a different ambience. Work on establishing the camps is in progress; they will be ready in two months,” said JLR managing director N D Tiwari.
The JCT project is being implemented through the Tourism Department, which has assigned the work to the Forest Department. Once the camps are ready, they will be handed over to JLR, which will operate them. Some of the camps under the JCT project include Sakrebail Elephant Camp, Kulagi Timber Trails Camp, Anshi Evergreen Camp, Gopinatham Country Camp, Bhagawati Herbal Camp, Aanejhari Butterfly Camp, Muthodi Trogon Camp among others. The camps that are equipped with all kinds of accommodation facilities enables tourists to engage in various activities like cave exploration, hornbill safari, butterfly trail, herbal trail, herpeto-trail, nature walks, machan night-outs, river rafting, forest treks, bird watching and boating.
