The Maharashtra state government has decided to set up a virtual film studio that will display various aspects of India’s tinsel town’s glory and will enable tourists to see the shooting of documentaries, advertisements and television serials. The state's tourism department has already acquired an 8 acres stretch of land at Gurgaon’s Film City for the project that is expected to start within 3 months. There are also plans to create a theme park showcasing 50 years of Bollywood and recreate a studio with all shooting equipments.
"The basic aim is to attract tourism. Basically people who visit it once should feel like coming back or recommend it to others," Varsha Gaikwad, Maharashtra Tourism Minister said.
