Cosco Star, the Hong Kong- registered passenger-cargo ship, sailed for the first time between Xiamen and Taiwan’s Kaohsiung on May 9th, carrying 300 passengers. It is the 3rd direct cruise route on which the Cosco Star sails between Xiamen and Taiwan. The new mode of transport will help the people traveling between China and Southern Taiwan.
Currently, the Cosco Star runs twice a week to Taiwan, departing from Xiamen Harbour every Monday and Friday, returning on Wednesday and Sunday. The cruise ship has the capacity to carry over 600 passengers and already sails regularly between Xiamen in Fujian Province and central Taiwan's Taichung and northern Taiwan's Keelung.
