68 Crore Sanctioned To Develop Tourists Destinations In India
The Indian government has sanctioned a massive amount of Rs. 68 crore ($15.30 million) to develop tourist destinations in Delhi- India’s national capital , Agra - the city of Taj and Jaipur- the pink city. The initiative is being undertaken by the government following persistent requests from the states and also keeping in view of the forthcoming common wealth games scheduled for October 3-14.
Union Minister of State for Tourism, Sultan Ahmed said that the ministry has sanctioned Rs.35.78 crore for Delhi, Rs.21.47 crore for Agra and Rs.11.44 crore for Jaipur. The funds with the main aim to provide financial assistance to the 3 states will be utilized to develop various infrastructures, including wayside amenities, signages, parking facilities and public utilities.
