Eating Out in Pokhara In comparison to other sleepy towns of Nepal, Pokhara has better eateries. Newars, the inhabitant of this town, are known for their love for food. The city has a range of cafes and restaurants that will spoil your taste buds. Most of these cafes and restaurants are near the Lakeside market.
Pushkar Guest House offers the best budget breakfasts in town. The menu boasts of a wide range of food; from Indian to Continental and Oriental to Mughlai. In fact, the breakfast here is the best hands down! It also has a good range of liquor including the very famous Carl's Burg beer. As far as cafes are concerned, Puja Bakery and Cafe is your best option in the town. The stuffs offered here are delicious and cheap. The place serves cinnamon rolls and the likes but not American style cakes. But these rolls and cakes are freshly dowsed and baked. The ambience of this place is very retro. Coffees are refreshing too. If you are hooked on European junk food then German Bakery is here for your rescue. The place has some great cakes to offer. The cakes are creamy and so are the donuts. The place offers other items too that are regular on the menu of European luncheons. Nevertheless, in the offseason the cakes can be a few days old. For lunch, you have two very good oriental eateries namely Hua-Han and Koto luxurious. While the former offers authentic Chinese and Tibetan meals, the latter is famous for its Japanese and Korean culinary. |
